went for my advanced dive course last weekend
and spent a fantabulous two days
living onboard the ruby.
we are sea people!

my very own pink fins! heh
made 7 dives in all
saw sharks, blue-spotted rays, fat eels and huge turtles underwater,
among many others.
(no underwater camera though - a great pity).
the dolphins even came out to display
their acrobatic skills!

ate way too much
coz our wonderful chef charles fed us too well.
good thing i didn't barf in the sea!

the sky was gorgeous all weekend -
it's so magical to wake up to a beautiful sunrise
and end the day with a colorful sunset.

fai and i will prob be going for yet another dive trip
this vesak weekend!
putting our progress packages to good use indeed!

nearly a month into training
and my batch's bonding rather well.
putting many camwhores together
means photos galore!

grooming class had us all removing our wayang make-up
and even the guys got to do some cuticle care.
cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen etc
we'll make metrosexuals of these dudes in no time!

up in the mock-up,
we had some fun in the galleys
learning what's in each compartment
and the use of all those equipment.

you have to know your beverages
in order to be an airy waiter/waitress.
so we fixed cocktails & mocktails,
opened wine bottles and champagne,
drink drank drunk
and turned bloody mary red.

theory classes can get quite dry
so lotsa fooling around during breaks
keep us sane (relatively):

so far so good
and we've been having heaps of fun.
the class is getting along fine & dandy!
plus i just found out that i'll soon be flying off
to TOKYO and SYDNEY
on my training flights.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

thought i'd better sort out the ones from last week's dives
before i head out for my next trip!
(i also got tired of waiting for underwater pics -
heard that the photographer might not deliver boohoo)

anyway, here's us after a 2+ hour van ride,
taking a break at a food place
that sold yummilicious ramly burgers!!!!!!

we reached the jetty another 2+ hours later (past midnight!)
and stood around waiting to get onto the boat
that would rock about for 4+ hours
to get us to dayang!

finally stepped on dayang sand in the wee hours of the morning.
a short nap later,
we went DIVING!

visibility was superb!
us newbies practiced all the necessary skills
and gazed around wide-eyed
as we were introduced to the awesome underwater world.
5 dives were hardly enough
to whet our appetites
(i guess that's why fai and i
are going for 2nd rounds this weekend!)

back on land,
it was photowhore galore:

and the cameras worked overtime
even as we made our way back to singapore.

the boat ride back to mainland malaysia
took such a long time.
the only plus points were that we saw
DOLPHINS
and we napped and mucked around:

my batch decided to freak the general public out
so we headed to suntec after a long day of training
in our smart office wear,
tight tight buns (of the hair type)
and in-your-face wayang make-up.

boy am i fortunate to be working with so many gorgeous girls!
*feels terribly ugly*

no wonder everyone's allowed some action
everyone except me, that is.

the singapore girl is such an icon,
but the poor singapore boys don't often get much recognition.

for my advanced!

that i need for work
*peers despairingly at the crater in my pocket*
