paris je t'aimethe ride there was rough,
no thanks to an awful chief
who made life difficult for all of us,
but we survived and rewarded ourselves more than amply.
it's been more than a year and a half
but paris hasn't changed one bit.
the food's still scrumptious,
the eiffel's still standing,
and shopping, oh, the shopping! *faints*
first up, the arc de triomphe and the eiffel:

i couldn't give the crepes a miss:

when in paris, do as the parisians do.
so i bought a baguette
and strode back to the hotel
happily armed with the stick of crispy-on-the-outside,
soft-on-the-inside goodness.
next up, shopping!!!
champs-élysées and a long, boring stop at louis vuitton;
baguette from pomme de pain
that finally chased away the hunger pangs;
macarons and pâtisseries from ladurée;
train to galeries lafayette and chanel(!),
then achy breaky long walk to rue de faubourg saint-honoré
and its vicinity for chanel (again) and miu miu(!);
ending with dinner near the hotel
of buttery escargots, tender duck breast and refreshing sorbet.

i splurged on a chanel classic flap bag
and a miu miu leather coffer bag
that made a huge dent in my bank account
but lightened my heart and brought on a cheshire grin.
it was retail therapy at its best.
