there is a relatively new man at my gate
and i would like to bestow on him
the title of "best security guard in the world".

he never fails to brighten my day/night
by coming out of his little house whenever a car approaches
to wave us hello/goodbye with a kindly, grandfatherly smile.

he pwns the other sleeping/grumpy/useless guards.
i won't be surprised if he's a retired raffles hotel doorman.

oh and someone rescued a rather new-looking toy car from the rubbish dump.
it is now parked in my basement carpark,
right next to the security guard's motorbike.

spent my birthday supermarket shopping with mum,
preparing for the bbq,
driving and picking up my own cake,
and soaking up a year's worth of love.
