i went crazy on friday.
it might have been the relief i felt, to be at the end of my first, full-time work week.
it might have been the fact that i was out and about, for a non-work reason.
it might have been because i actually have a full-time job now.
maybe it was because i was with feng.
whatever it was, i went absolutely bonkers - SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!
what started out as a i-wana-meet-you-coz-i-miss-you thingy quickly became a let's-see-how-much-zenn-and-feng-can-spend-today EVENT.
we were suppose to look for work clothes. but did we go into any work-clothes-selling places?
NO.
we first weaved into paragon - coz it was on the way to heeren, coz i can't walk past paragon without going in for a look, coz it was so bloody hot that paragon was a refreshing shelter (yesyes, just blame the weather).
in less than a minute, the words "RELOCATION SALE" caught my eye, and we made a beeline into stuart weitzman.
rows and rows of delicious footwear-of-all-kinds. stilletos, pumps, slippers, pointy-toes, round-toes, no-toes....all screaming "pick me! pick me!" ... i swear, if those shoes had hands and legs, they would be jumping up and down, waving for attention.
or maybe it's just me.
the quiet of the store (or should i call it a BOUTIQUE) was interrupted by my "OOOOOOOOOs" and "AHHHHHHHs"...and the occasional "RAAAHHHHs" (when i saw a lovely pair that no longer came in my size!)
i must have looked so un-atas to the taitais on those plush cushions, tying on their strappy, blingbling heels.
but i found IT - the first pair of heels i've fallen in love with since my return from melbourne (state of the gorgeous shoes). it felt right the moment i slipped it on. a perfect fit, even though it was slightly stiff coz the leather's so spanking new. not as high-heeled as i'm used to (i think my feet will thank me for this), just right for wearing out and walking miles.
but it's so pretty, i may just frame it up and gaze at it at home. (or showcase it at the next breast cancer awareness event, since it's now known as my breast cancer shoes, no thanks to colin -_-)
i couldn't resist. so i watched the man walk away with my card. he returned, and handed me my new precious, nestled in a PURPLE shoebox, in a cream suart weitzman paperbag.
and a receipt for $290. usual price of the shoes: $570.
i sure know how to break into my bank account with a big bang.
we headed to heeren immediately after that - because boutiques in heeren are suppose to be cheaper than those in paragon.
feng and i tried on jeans at levi's (one jeans sha1 liang3 zhi1 niao3 haha). there was one pair that actually fit me nice. but with my heart (and card) still palpitating from the shoe-buy, i decided to KIV the jeans.
i think i will go back next week to get it. wahahaha
our next stop at mon chevon got me a nice, rainbow, flowy top and a cream work/dress jacket, at a whooping $261.
oh man, oh man.
we then went to benno...where i tried on a purple skirt that led colin to suggest that i be tinkerbelle on halloween, him peter pan, feng wendy, grace the crocodile, ah hock as captain hook. need to research on other peter pan characters.
i pranced around the store in my swirly purple skirt, pondering about whether i should buy it. i must have irritated the salesperson so...she tried to get me to try on tops with it but i was too distracted talking on the phone. after looking at myself in the mirror a million times, i finally paid for it. benno should thank feng for praising me in my skirt and making me wana buy it even more haha
i was on a shopping high. my conversation with xiang on the phone didn't make much sense. my thoughts were scattered, i was moaning about the money spent, but wowing about the beautiful things i bought.
he told me to go home so i wouldn't spend more. arhaha
ian, loon and gracie then joined us and we went to cineleisure foodcourt for a late dinner. thereafter, gracie, feng and i joined edmund and gang and ended up at alleybar. it was quite nice, sitting there in the dark with my babes, meeting new people, talking about old ones, getting happy-high (for feng) and making sure the music we're hearing was not just playing in our heads.
called it a night after 1am.
haven't had such a big shopping outing in singapore before. it was as wonderful as my sprees in melbourne. i think a big part of enjoying the shopping came from the good service we got today. the salespeople were wonderful - friendly, helpful, not pushy (which was kinda surprising coz i've frequently had horrid experiences with sales staff in singapore).
love how it feels, to be floating on euphoria, with all the gorgeous new buys in my hand.
but enough of that for now. i need to top up my bank account.
