little zenn in the big apple

day one
i wasted no time in hitting the shops,
and took an hour's coach ride out to woodbury common.
the round trip ticket cost me USD39,
but i think the savings i made shopping at the factory outlets there
made it all worthwhile.

it's like a whole village of factory outlets - shopper's paradise!

day two
i slept in coz i was so tired after the long day out yesterday
and mun and i had a really late dinner at del fisco's -
this rather fantastic steak house (even though the stuff were a tad too salty).
i wouldn't have woken up if it hadn't been for mun waving magnet's shit in my face.

anyway, after much tu-ing, i ventured out into a wet, dreary new york
and caught the train to 5th avenue!
the first thing i did was pop into the gorgeous apple store
and i bought my macbook lots of stuff
like the iklear apple polish, iskin keyboard protector, and even a track pad film!

after that, i took a long walk by central park,
and nearly died walking to the metropolitan museum.

it was past 3.30pm by the time i got to the met,
and since it closed at 5.15pm, i decided not to pay the USD20 entrance fee
to view the art pieces.
instead, i went straight into the met shop and got myself a magnet.
art can wait.

took a bus this time, back to the shoppier part of 5th avenue
and i proceeded to walk all the way from 59th street to 42nd street,
weaving in and out of shops as i moved on.
only bought a top and a skirt from abercrombie and fitch,
and concealer from mac at henri bendel,
despite spending a lot of time looking for something i like at tiffany & co.,
and traipsing all floors at saks.

discovered a great japanese restaurant at 44th street
and made a pit stop to fill my tummy and rest my weary body
before making my way home.

snapped some shots on the way to the subway at times square:

i was bundled up like an eskimo, with a cute guy hanging off my arm.

the loot so far:

tomorrow will see me visiting the liberty woman,
taking a walk to the world trade centre site,
and hopefully doing more shopping at the soho/tribeca area.
if i can wake up.

i've got my ticket to watch phantom booked for monday evening,
and mun's promised to take me to megu.
plus chenghui might come downtown over the weekend,
and i've got heaps more places to check out,
so that's plenty to look forward to.
woohoo!
