the tiger cup is back in singapore!!!
i'm not a huge soccer fan - if i watch it, i watch it..if i don't..well..i don't...(?) i fall asleep if the match is boring, i scream and shout when it is exciting...
i am especially NOT a singapore-soccer fan....i think the s-league sucks and is a complete waste of time..i sometimes think that soccer fields take up too much space, and should be put to better use..like for swimming pools, or badminton courts, or reservoirs or something......
but yesterday's tiger cup match made me proud of singapore soccer...the lions did well and i applaud their sportsmanship - they didn't start a fight when the dumbass referee gave them retarded yellow cards, they didn't spit at him when he was so biasly lax on the indonesian players..or maybe he felt pity for the indos coz they were having a pretty horrible time, what with being down by so many goals and all...
from the 2 matches i watched, i think singapore totally deserves the long-awaited return of the tiger cup...woohooooo singapore!!!!! *does the solo kallang wave*
another wonderful thing about the match? the gorgeous sight of the fans, all decked out in red and white, filling the seats of the national stadium...haven't seen that in awhile...i don't know how many of them were singaporeans, and how many were indonesians - both countries having red and white as their national colours - but it was still a beautiful sight...the kallang waves, the flying banners, the guy with the doodoo-looking lion head, the happy, screaming faces....i soaked up the atmosphere from in front of the telly...(ter's telly made us go woozy when the cameraman panned and moved round the stadium...the sea of red coupled with the tv screen's concave-ness made for a very dizzy experience haha)...
it's been awhile since singapore soccer last had so much support, and i'm glad we still have it in us to support and cheer for the nation's sports...it would have been nice to be there in person (thanz ahhockcotu-san for the ticket offer!) but it was nice sitting in a cosy living room with doopz, ter and des too...especially since we had pizzas!!! haha i ate FOUR giant slices in one sitting (big feat for my small stomach ok!)!!! i thought i was gona blow up...looked like i had a eight-year-old in my tummy wahaha ewwww grossssss......
